羽毛球场为一长方形场地，由国际羽毛球联合会制定规则，采用矩形平面布局并配以球网分隔左右场区。单打场地尺寸为13.40米×5.18米，对角线14.366米；双打场地尺寸为13.40米×6.10米，对角线14.723米 。场线一般为白色、黄色或其他易于识别的颜色 。球网长6.10米、宽760毫米，网孔15-20毫米，网顶白布包裹钢丝绳悬挂于1.55米高网柱，中部网高1.524米 。场地要求上空净高≥9米，四周2米内无遮挡物，相邻场间距≥2米 。
羽毛球场材质分为水泥、合成材料、木地板 ，传统比赛场地采用弹性木地板，现代多使用化学合成塑胶或悬浮地板 。部分区域性体育馆设置5米层高空间，满足日常健身与小型赛事需求
