Samaya vows are Given without barely even knowing in my 90's empowerments . I was a little naive .thank God for mahamudra and dzogchen that upholds samaya without 'simply' remaining in awareness without necessarily doing elaborate rituals we westerners are unfamiliar with.

People do not think that sharing secret teachings with people who don't care or ridicule it is actually infraction of our wows, we cause others to criticize or degrade teaching Vajrayana or HYT SHOULD NOT BE TAUGHT without learning Sutra First.

YOU are so right Rimpoche...as a practitioner I share the same view...we Need to be patience and First of all try to understand the real meaning of words and their roots which are so very different if you look from and eastern or a western point of view. But maybe It all depends from a huge lack of patience from both sides. This very samsaric world Is very challeging also for Lamas

Why to keep secret….
If this is so than how can we sentient beings know about Buddhism
Tibetan high lamas are very precious, kind and beyond knowledge and all are compassionate beings not an ordinary… and lamas know what to keep secret and what not to so……
And Because of Tibetan leader His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama BUDDISM came again in this world and monks are all grace by His holiness and very high many precious lamas

Absolutely..everything is on the internet these days. There is no privacy,.secrecy, so it's growing valueless these days, many misinterpretation, lots of ppl make fun of Buddhist paintings with consort calling it 'sexy Buddha etc.', as they don't understand what it is exactly. It's sad to hear such comments.

Everything you say has been coming to my mind lots, such preciousness indescribable and unimaginable by humans is really not to be shared nor explained by media ️everything gets misinterpreted and some things are bound to be kept private from nowadays “transparency “and cameras, it’s perceived from my personal experience as an outrage and an insult to the energy spec we are being allowed to be in……not trying to compare Buddhism to anything…. Just as an example…there’s no way you’re allowed to film Native American Church rituals, the camera is not even allowed in…..and then because Buddhism appears as “Folklore”Lol….Lamas dances,stances and prayers are shown like red street circus…sacred areas and scenes from monastery are shown likewise you’re visiting the pyramids…( difficult to put into words)
Let me assure you that samsaric religions don’t allow you to go and film neither building nor rituals….and even less the masters of the ceremonies in action….
I try to keep in my mind at all times that all beings are in their chosen vehicle and with their corresponding capacities and therefore no value judgement , and that everything I see is emanating from Buda Field SangWathank you very deeply for your thoughts

No tptoffy he says we have to study for a reason. The reason is we don't know anything. You don't have to know anything but if you want to be liberated and or practice tantra it means knowing stuff. One cow one sky one ceiling one view. The truth is no different, it is one too.

Frankly speaking, there is no preaching in both the methods of vajrayana - mahamudra and the great perfection. Both methods advocate observing the mind only. There is no wisdom to expound. Only technique so to say.
